AUTHORITY IN PRAYER

Our text...Acts 19:15,2 Corinthians 10:6,James 5:13-18

PRAYER is the art of communicating with the Lord,by calling on His name,personality,power and essence to introduce the envisaged change,impact or influence,in any given situation.

PRAYER is a divine mandate to every believer in Christ Jesus.Philipians 4:6,1 These 5:17....in nothing be anxious.Prayer is a part of the Christian armour,Ephesians 6:8.

The opportunities PRAYER presents or affords us are endless.Prayer is more than a vocal thing,and that's where many have missed it.A lot of people see prayer,as being strongly outspoken and loud.However, that's not the reality.

PRAYER is more than a vocal exercise,rather it's an operation in conveying the catalyst for the needed change; a way of conferring change,a kind of injunction....switching on the light,and forcing the darkness,to flee!

The keyword in effective prayer,is AUTHORITY! Authority is the right to execute judgement.Isaiah 54:17,Psalm 106:30,149:5-9. IT'S A DIVIDEND OF RELATIONSHIP, AND THE RESULT OF OBEDIENCE. 2 Corinthians 10:6. That makes you a true agent of change on earth.

AUTHORITY is what gives PRAYER the driving force,penetrative pressure.Take note,authority is a GIVEN RIGHT,that implies modalities and conditions are attached.Two things are involved at least; Genesis 1:26, Isaiah 1:19.

1. WILLINGNESS: To be willing means alignment,be in agreement.When we are willing or become WILLING,a link is established...a sort of channel is opened,enabling participation on our part.Isaiah 1:19Luke 9:49,50.

2. OBEDIENCE: Obedience expressed action.Our obedience makes us available for GOD to express His PRESENCE and POWER.Joshua 3:11-4:18.

PRE-REQUISITES FOR AUTHORITY IN PRAYER

THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS NOT IN WORD...1 Corinthians 4:20,Romans 14:17.We have discussed authority in prayer,as it relates to believers in Christ Jesus.For us to exercise authority,we must access it.So,how do we get or engage the authority in prayer?

*HOLINESS.... Hebrews 12:14,1 Pet 1:16.To operate with God's authority,we must be on the same frequency with Him....be ye holy,for I am holy!

* KNOWLEDGE...We must know about authority,this goes beyond hearing about it.Hosea 4:6, Genesis 1:26.GOD HAS GIVEN US AUTHORITY ON EARTH TO RULE.Psalm 115:16,144:1,Matthew 28:18,Luke 10:19,1 John 5:19.You must have the knowledge that God has granted you authority in prayer.

*ABIDE IN CHRIST....John 15:4,5,7.Jesus is the source of our AUTHORITY.You must be founded on the firm foundation, JESUS CHRIST to exercise authority!

*KNOW & PRAY THE WORD...Daniel 9:3-19.The WORD OF GOD is not letters,but SPIRIT and LIFE! To function with the AUTHORITY,you must know the word. i.e. the possibilities in the  WORD,and also PRAY it.Psalm 91:16,118:17.

*STAND UPON THE PROMISES OF GOD....2 Chronicles 13:5,Amos 7:12-15,2 Peter 1:4.You must take your advantage from the promises of God.Just as King Abijah of Judah declared against King Jeroboam of Israel.The promises of God are to enable us partake of God's provisions for us,even authority in prayer!

*FOCUS ON GOD IN TIMES OF WARFARE....Psalm 16:8,121:1,2,Matthew 14:29,30.Our sufficiency is of GOD.You must keep you eyes on HIM,no matter the tempest.The more of God we have in focus,the less of the challenges that we have to deal with! 

*BE BOLD & COURAGEOUS..... Deuteronomy 2:24. There's need to be offensive,be battle ready.A feeble hearted person will give way to the ENEMY.Ephesians 4:27.

*BE A WORSHIPPER.....John 4:24.Worship is a platform for exercising AUTHORITY.It makes you pliable,adjusted to the dimension God moves you!

*FAST REGULARLY.....Luke 4:2,14.Fasting is a discipline,and it mold us.In fasting, you subject your flesh to obedience,to the will of God.

*PRAYER IN THE HOLY GHOST

*PRAYER IN RIGHTEOUSNESS 

*PRAYER WITH RESILIENCE 

....whatsoever ye shall bind on earth,shall be bounding heaven!
